Technology gone astray
Wednesday, March 18th, 2009As it is my practice, I was surfing through some of the oddball stories that you may find on the internet. One that caught my eye was one about the lead burglar. Apparently, this guy had used Google earth, (one of my favorite sites) to zoom in on the rooftops of buildings. He could then determine whether or not the rooftop was made of lead. It turns out, that many rooftops in England are made of lead, a valuable commodity.
After a little planning, (apparently not enough), he would then climb onto the roofs and carry away his plunder. All good things come to an end, and this story does as well. He was nabbed by the police and taken away. I do give the guy a lot of credit for imagination though; he found the loophole that’s inherent with every new technology!
