E74

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Many owners of the Xbox 360 are complaining about the E74 error. If you are unfortunate enough to get this error, it may cost over a hundred dollars to repair.Microsoft claims there is no single root cause for the error and does not cover it under their extended warranty.

Having dealt with Microsoft throughout the years, I feel the consumer’s pain. I’m really getting tired of Microsoft and their incompetence! The worst part to me is that even though this is a known problem to the public, Microsoft continues to behave like it’s not a major problem. Business as usual!

Flying Circus?

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

With Today’s successful test flight of the “flying car”, I wonder if we will be any better off. Driving to and from work on an everyday basis, I already see a number of near accidents as it is. The failure to use turn signals and the distraction of cell phones has led to our highways being a disaster waiting to happen. What will the result of adding flying cars to mix be?

The next logical question is where you would put the “Top view mirror?” I guess we could mount one on the hood of the car. Making the roof of the car transparent may help some, but you would have to take your eyes off the road to see the incoming flying car! I’m not sure that new technology is always good technology.

Music

A friend of mine was telling me about a website that plays music. It’s called Pandora internet radio. It’s a pretty cool thing to have. You put the name of a band or a song in, and it will play many songs of the same type from other bands. It’s a good way to discover new music. You may hear a song from a relatively unknown band and decide you like them.

They have a little section called “About the music”. It tells you a little about the band that is playing. You also have the option to buy the album right from their website. I thanked my friend for turning me on to this site. I have really enjoyed it so far!

The wide screen

I was looking into getting a new monitor. The one I have now is starting to go. It has developed a dark line that runs down the center from top to bottom. It was a great monitor for the time that I had it, but I was thinking of getting a bigger one.

The problem now is that I can’t decide which one to get. Everybody that knows me knows I love a great deal. I was hoping to find one somewhere without having to buy it at retail price. I put some wanted ads out on Craig’s list and free cycle as well. I’ll keep looking until I find the right one at the right price!
