Technology one, dad zero!
Starting out in life as a construction worker, I never had much use for a computer in my early days. It’s been a tad over several years since I first turned one on. I’ve adapted to it nicely since then. To be sure, I went through the usual growing pains of learning the ins and outs of its use. At this point in time, I have been able to help others who are going through the same things I did.
One area that I have not succeeded in is the cell phone. No matter how I try, I have been unable to master its intricacies. Adding a ring tone or downloading an application has been next to impossible. It’s at the point now, where I do not even try anymore. That’s where my daughter comes in. giving the phone to her, she flies through the buttons and after a few seconds, she hands me back the phone.
The kids seem to have taken to technology a lot faster than I ever did. I’m glad they’ll be able to hold their own and take advantage of all it has to offer. I just hope they still remember that I’m the dad!
