A great place to visit

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Living in Virginia, there are a few really nice places to go. The Shenandoah Mountains come to mind, but there is also Colonial Williamsburg. Consisting of a number of historic buildings from the 1699 to 1780, the area contains a number of important sites. The former capital of colonial Virginia, it straddles the counties of York and James City County.

With extensive renovations to the buildings, there are also a number of people who dress, act, and talk as the colonials did. Many of the great people of our history spent time here, James Monroe, Patrick Henry, and Thomas Jefferson to name a few. It is a wonderful place to visit and a good place to teach the kids about the values our country was built on.

Eating out

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Last night we went out to eat. We went to Capt. Jacks all you can eat. It’s a really nice place to go when you’re hungry. It is a little pricey, so we can’t go all the time. They have a wonderful buffet with every kind of seafood imaginable. It all looks so good; it’s hard to know what to choose.

My brother and his girl mostly ate the king crab legs. They dipped them in little bowls of butter. I had a few of those, but mostly I’m a shrimp eater. I really like the breaded popcorn shrimp and had more than a few of those. There were steamed shrimp which I peeled away and ate with sauce. They also have a wide variety of desserts. I had some peach cobbler and strawberry shortcake. I’m still full from last night so I haven’t even eaten today. I’ll be glad when we can go back there again!

Better days ahead

These days, the economy is in such a state that no one seems to know what is going on. People who were doing very well are now not doing so well. Some people who were just getting by are starting to fall behind. This is what happened to my friend at work. John was doing ok financially but decided to buy a new car. At the time he got it, it was not a problem to pay for it.

The bad part is that he was switched to part-time help. His new salary was not half of what it used to be. This caused John to fall behind on his bills. He was able to keep up for a while by using his savings. That could not be a permanent solution though and the well has run dry. John is now very far behind on what he owes.

After talking over the situation with him, I decided to inform him of some of the options he has. I recommended that he seek some professional advice from the experts. I gave john a link to a website called debtconsolidationloan.net. I advised him to check it out and see if he could qualify for help. I know that some services do different things and I thought he would be able to take advantage of this one.

I know that one of the ways they can help is by providing hard to find information designed to help you get a
Debt Consolidation Loan. By combining his loans into one, he may be able to help himself through these troubled times. I sure hope he will be able to do so. John is a great guy and I would like to see him succeed. I am sure it will all work out for the best. These days will pass and I’m sure that someone like John will be able to get back on his feet.

Shout out!

Just wanted to mention that my friend Michael is out of the hospital today! Michael had back surgery to relieve his chronic pain. They said the surgery went well and are looking for a near complete recovery.

We spent a lot of time playing together on the company softball team. He plays a mean first base and we’ll miss his bat in the lineup. Just wanted to wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him soon!
