Skinned alive

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Being as that I live near the beach, I often like to lay out and catch a few rays. Some days though, it just doesn’t work out. As it was a bright and sunny day and I had some time to kill, I put on my shorts, gathered my towel, sunglasses, and lotion and headed down to the oceanfront. I knew it was windy out, but I didn’t realize the effect it would have.

Trying to lay out my towel took a minute or two as the wind kept blowing it away. But I carried on and after using my shoes to anchor it down, I was ready for some rays. No sooner had lain out; a huge gust of wind blasted me with a wave of sand that felt like needles all over my body. I had to shut my eyes to avoid being blinded and squirmed around to keep the sand from blasting my face. You wouldn’t think that windblown sand could be so painful. After being blasted time and again by this invisible wall of razor-sharp grains of rock, I finally had to admit defeat and hurried back to the safety of my car!

Up close and Personal

As I may have mentioned, we have a large pond behind our house. There is a large amount of wildlife who resides there. Being as that I’ve always enjoyed the outdoors, I like to see the beauty of the animals. It can be quite difficult to sneak up on the animals as they are weary of humans. I’ve found that the best way to see them is by using binoculars. That way, I can watch them and not have to worry about scaring them away!

I found a website called opticsplanet.net. They have just about every kind of binoculars you can think of. The best part was that they had a lot of useful information which allowed me to choose the set that was right for me! I am looking forward to a summer full of showing the kids the beauty of the natural world!

Having a drink

I was at a friend’s house the other day. He introduced me to a new beer. It was new to me anyway. It was called Molson xxx. It has a high alcohol content. It tasted pretty good and didn’t have a bad aftertaste. The thing was that after drinking two, I was more than a little tipsy.

What I learned was that when you need a good beer and won’t be driving, I think I’ve found a good thing. I am looking forward to the next time I’m ready to quench my thirst!

Bring in the New!

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

In the old days, we had a lot of sales representatives that brought in the business at our company. They did a good job, but now they have become outdated. Nowadays, more and more of our business comes in from online. That has made it necessary to ensure that we have the latest technology in order to make this possible.

We have updated our equipment to handle the increasing flow of traffic on our servers. The emphasis on Server management has become crucial to our business model. The ability to ensure that our customers can utilize our services quickly and easily is the lifeblood of our profitability. In order to survive the turmoil in the market, we knew we had to upgrade our approach to business.

After much debate and research, we decided to go with a company called Hyperic. They specialize in System Management and have been a key part of our day to day operations. This has made them a welcome addition to our family. By taking advantage of all their resources, we have been able to keep our system stable and reliable. We also have been able to utilize their approach to System Monitoring. This has made it possible to maximize the efficiency of our service as well as being able to expand our operational strategy. We are looking forward to another great year for us and our customers!
