The Best Clubhouse

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

One thing I really like about the company I work for is that we support many local projects. We are proud to be the sponsors of a little league baseball team who are the Bobcats. We supplied them with uniforms and equipment so that the kids can have a good time playing the game the love. After talking with the league, we decided to go one step farther.

The league controls multiple fields near the school where all the games are played. They have a clubhouse and snack bar as well. Wanting to add lockers to the clubhouse, our company in conjunction with other companies is going to foot the bill. We held some raffles and other fund raising events to get the funds necessary. Now, all the people involved are ready to have the gym lockers installed. We hope to have it done before the next season starts.

I can’t wait to see how happy the kids will be to have their own locker to hang their equipment in! I know that they will feel like they are professional players when they are getting ready to play. We will soon have the best clubhouse in the county and be the envy of all the other leagues in the state. I am glad to know that I helped to make this dream a reality.

Of Men and Mice…

We seem to have a new addition to our home. That is usually good news, but this time it may be that great. I heard a scream and ran down the steps to see what the matter was. My daughter had caught sight of a mouse running underneath the dishwasher and she was not happy at all. I calmed her down and promised to investigate the problem. I removed the dishwasher and indeed found traces of a mice home.

The mouse had a nice pile of cat food stacked up. I guess he was storing it for later. Anyway, I made a nice trap and laid it out that night. Using some old paper towel rolls, I taped them together and ran them up to a trash can. The mouse could not resist the tunnel and accordingly ran through and was caught in the can. I took the mouse for a nice ride and released him far from home.

Easing through Life

Anyone who knows me has undoubtedly heard of one my favorite pet peeves. My printers are always running out of ink! These days it is a necessity to have a working printer in the house. They are very handy for printing out important papers and documents. The kids use our printer a lot for their schoolwork and my wife uses it as well. Being as that we use it so much, I have a tough time keeping enough printer cartridges to replace the ones that are empty. This causes me to get quite frustrated at times.

Another concern I have with my printer is the large amount of money we spend on ink. I was glad to finally find a solution to that problem. I discovered a website called castleink.com. They made it possible for us to save a lot of money on all the different brands of printer cartridges we buy. After I found this site, I was able to take advantage of their cheap ink cartridges and dramatically lower my ink expenses.

One of the best features of this site is that it’s easy to find the right printer cartridges for the printer you have. I don’t know how much time I spent in some store aisle looking for the correct cartridge to fit in my printer, and then having to go somewhere else to find it. This site carries nearly every major brand and type of ink that you can imagine. I highly recommend that anyone who feels as I do should check out this amazing site. I’m glad that I was able to find a way to make my life a little easier!

Ethanol

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

There is a lot of concern about the environment in the recent past. We always hear about how greenhouse gases are changing global weather patterns and raising havoc with temperatures worldwide. The oceans seem to be rising with the earths warming and are causing major portions of some countries to lose land mass. We are currently looking for ways to reduce our consumption of carbon based fuels.

Many people believe that Ethanol is a good way to accomplish this goal. I myself am not so sure about that. It seems to me that we use almost as much energy to make Ethanol as it takes to use regular gas and oil. The land use issue of growing corn for gas has caused a worldwide increase in food prices. I cannot say what the answer to this problem is, but I do hope that we can find a way to solve it!
