Mozilla Firefox

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

Sometimes it’s necessary for me to check on my work from home. One problem I encountered was that our internet site does not work well with Yahoo. Yahoo is my default browser. After talking to some people at work who had the same problem, I downloaded Mozilla Firefox.

The popup boxes no longer appear and I am able to access my work without trouble. I must admit that I am having trouble getting used to the look and feel of Mozilla. I guess I’ll get used to it, but it may take awhile!

Making it anywhere!

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

My cousin Sharon has recently moved to New York with her husband Gerald. They are a young couple just starting out in life. They both enjoy living in the big city with all the big stores and nightlife. Gerald is working for a big company and is seemingly doing well. Sharon is still looking for the best in New York jobs for her. I am sure that she will soon find gainful employment with the thousands of jobs in that area.

Many people in our family were not sure about their choice of where to live. They keep telling us that they have never been happier and how much they love it there. I think they made a wise decision with their move, after all, “if they can make it there they can make it anywhere” as they say. I wish them both the best with their new lives and careers.

Cap and Trade

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

One thing I’ve been reading about lately is the new environmental Cap and Trade system that congress is considering. In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, companies will be allotted “credits” which can be traded to other companies to help them meet their emissions quotas. I am all for reducing greenhouse gases, but I’m not sure this system will work.

This system of trading credits is rife with flaws. There are so many loopholes in the rules that the average American will be hard pressed to see any results at all. The other problem is that it will definitely cost the taxpayers a great deal of money to enact. I hope that congress and the current administration will be able to solve this problem in a different way!
