Rush

One personality that is always in the news is Rush Limbaugh. He is a far right wing republican radio show host. He is always making brash comments about the many issues of the day. I think that he is a jerk. I have listened to some of his shows. Not to support him, but to keep an eye on what he is up to.

Rush has a habit of overdramatizing and oversimplifying our nations problems. If the answers he suggests actually worked, we would not have the problems we do. I think it is dangerous for people to believe the things he promotes. I believe that we need real solutions to the real problems we all face. I hope that people will remember that he is what he is; a radio show host!

A Feeling of Safety

Ever since my mom retired and moved to Florida, I have had an uneasy feeling. While I am glad that she is enjoying her later years, I do worry about her being alone. She is very friendly with the lady next door and she has a vast network of friends, but they still can’t all be there all the time in case of an emergency. That’s why I considered using some of the latest technology to help.

Mom has had some problems in the past with getting around. Her bones are weakened with age and she is in constant danger of falling or becoming immobile. After investigating the subject, I heard about a system called Life Alert. There are many features I like about this system, but the most important is the fall detection feature. If mom falls and can’t push the button, they can still notify the authorities and get help.

There are many other features including reminders of when to take medicine and an inactivity feature that allows for 24 hour protection. I am glad I found Life Alert and am satisfied that mom is now as safe as can be. It’s good to know that mom can enjoy her retirement and it’s a great feeling to know that I don’t have to worry about her. The whole family is proud of the way she has handled herself and we are all proud of her!
