A Little known fact

When we were kids, it was always fun to inhale some Helium and make our voices sound funny. We had a great time doing this and it was always a big thrill. I was wondering what the science behind it was. It turns out that our voices are dependent on a number of factors. The chief one for our listeners is that the air that fills our lungs has a speed.

Because Helium is lighter than air, our voices actually increase in speed. This causes the listener to think we sound funny. The bad part is that inhaling Helium can be quite dangerous. If you inhale too much Helium, you may run short of Oxygen and get lightheaded. While this may seem to be a fun pastime, you need to be very cautious about the unwanted results of your actions!
