Good Foods

Every day when I come home from a hard day at the office, the first thing I am interested in is what’s for dinner. As of late though, I have become more aware of the foods I eat. I’ve found out that eating foods that are good for you can help your overall health as well as your mental abilities. Here are a few things I found that are an excellent source of nutrition.

The kiwifruit contains 115% of the vitamin C you need each day. It’s also very low in calories with about 45 in each. You can’t beat that! Another wonderful food is Kale. Kale contains many cancer fighting compounds including indoles, antioxidants, and sulforaphane. Kale also contains iron, calcium, vitamins A, C, and K.

For people who suffer from high blood pressure, Salmon may be the way to go. Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids that help reduce the effects of high blood pressure. It also helps prevent heart disease. All in all, eating healthier can lead to better health and a longer life. It may also help you to feel better on a daily basis and be more productive which leads to a better life!

Hobbies!

What many people may not know about me is that I am a gun enthusiast. With my left wing feelings on such subjects as the environment, many assume that I am against guns. I am not! I feel that guns play an important role in the security of our country, states, and neighborhoods. I think that every upstanding citizen has the right to own a gun for any purpose. Whether for self defense or shooting at a local range, guns are a part of the American way of life.

On occasion, I take my guns to a local range. I enjoy shooting and have taught my children to shoot as well. One thing that must be considered as a gun owner is maintaining your weapon properly. I found a great website called brownells.com that has all the gun parts that you could ever need. I was able to pick up some cleaning accessories as well as a hard to find AR15 Magazine that held thirty rounds. I have been impressed by the quality of their products and their reliable service.

It is my fervent wish that I never need to use my gun in a hostile manner, but if it becomes necessary, I’ll be able to handle the situation. I have spent a large amount of time receiving training on how to handle, store, and maintain a gun safely. I believe that guns help keep our society stable and provide a feeling of security in a dangerous world.

Cleaner Jobs

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

With so much emphasis on the environment lately, many people think that changes in our energy production are needed. While some people worry that these changes will cost a lot of money, others believe that it will be good way to create new jobs. Some have estimated that over two million jobs would be created if the U.S. switched to cleaner energy sources.

Personally I think that we must go in this direction. We only have one Earth and we all need to take care of it. The evidence is starting to show that we have dramatically changed our environment and that it will have major consequences. I hope that world leaders will come together and find solutions to the problems we face. We must make agreements that may be unpleasant for some, but good for the whole!
