Goodbye Analog

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Over the last several decades, we have all been served well by the analog signals that provided us with our T.V. signals. It seems that digital signals will be taking over the job and millions of people will soon face the switch. The deadline has been extended before, but analysts say it will not be extended again.

Friday, June 12 will be the last day of analog service from major stations. From now on, people will need to have a converter box to continue using their older T. V. sets. As I am always a nostalgic person, I hate to see the old signals go. I do look forward to having a new and better system though and hope the transition goes smoothly.

Boats and Floats

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Since the summer weather is now in full swing, we are all ready to hit the water and have some fun. I have taken the cover off the boat and cleaned her up pretty good. I was thinking about getting the nautical clocks that I wanted before we take her out for the first time. This is an important piece of equipment that keeps time and depending on what kind you get, has other functions as well. Since we spend so much time on the boat, it is necessary to have the best equipment possible.

Last year, we had a few situations where we were not as prepared to go out as we should have been. I am determined not to let that happen again. I want to ensure that we have the best time possible and having the best equipment is a good way to do that. I spend a lot of time and money maintaining my boat and making each trip perfect is important to me. My family depends on me to take us out and bring us home safely. That’s one of the reasons I shop at American Marine Supply for the best equipment.

This year will be the best year yet for our families boating experience. I have many trips planned and if the weather holds will complete them all. Many times I take out some of my best friends. I hope I will have the pleasure of inviting everyone for a wonderful day out. I’ll see you on the water!

Vacant Jobs…

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

With the economy in difficult shape, many people have found themselves out of work. I was pondering the situation and found there are many job positions that are open and unfilled. The health care field has numerous opportunities to those who qualify. There are openings for a physician’s assistant or nurse practitioners. Not surprisingly, there are many other fields with vacant positions.

The financial field has opportunities for financial planners and analysts. If this doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, you may want to try something in the manufacturing field. Computer control programmers are in great demand by employers. Whatever your field is, I wish you good job hunting and a rewarding career!

Pick One!!

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Since most of the people around our office are very close, we seem to know a lot about each other. That’s why we were all interested to know what kind of car my secretary Alice would buy. Her old car has seen its final days and she is ready to replace it. We all have our own views on which kind of car she should purchase. Randy is adamant that the best car for her would be one of the Infiniti cars that you may find on many lots. He has one and has promised her that she wouldn’t regret having one as well.

Cindy has another view. She currently owns a Mazda and is very happy with the car. She drives hers everywhere and loves how it handles. Cindy also pointed out that the best car color was blue and that no other color would do! Frank has a different opinion altogether. He feels that Alice may want to take this opportunity to stretch her horizons and go with a Chevrolet Camaro. A sporty race car is just the thing she may want. When she came to me for advice, I had something completely different in mind.

Cindy has helped me many times in the past. I wanted to help her in return. That’s why I told her about a way to make car buying easy. I thought that she should take advantage of something called the smart car review. This is a tool that allows you to compare the many different makes and models of cars and pick the one that fits you best. We are all anticipating her final choice. I am sure that she will be happy with a new car no matter which one she chooses, even if some other people around the office may not feel the same way!!
