Goodbye Analog

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Over the last several decades, we have all been served well by the analog signals that provided us with our T.V. signals. It seems that digital signals will be taking over the job and millions of people will soon face the switch. The deadline has been extended before, but analysts say it will not be extended again.

Friday, June 12 will be the last day of analog service from major stations. From now on, people will need to have a converter box to continue using their older T. V. sets. As I am always a nostalgic person, I hate to see the old signals go. I do look forward to having a new and better system though and hope the transition goes smoothly.

Boats and Floats

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Since the summer weather is now in full swing, we are all ready to hit the water and have some fun. I have taken the cover off the boat and cleaned her up pretty good. I was thinking about getting the nautical clocks that I wanted before we take her out for the first time. This is an important piece of equipment that keeps time and depending on what kind you get, has other functions as well. Since we spend so much time on the boat, it is necessary to have the best equipment possible.

Last year, we had a few situations where we were not as prepared to go out as we should have been. I am determined not to let that happen again. I want to ensure that we have the best time possible and having the best equipment is a good way to do that. I spend a lot of time and money maintaining my boat and making each trip perfect is important to me. My family depends on me to take us out and bring us home safely. That’s one of the reasons I shop at American Marine Supply for the best equipment.

This year will be the best year yet for our families boating experience. I have many trips planned and if the weather holds will complete them all. Many times I take out some of my best friends. I hope I will have the pleasure of inviting everyone for a wonderful day out. I’ll see you on the water!

Vacant Jobs…

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

With the economy in difficult shape, many people have found themselves out of work. I was pondering the situation and found there are many job positions that are open and unfilled. The health care field has numerous opportunities to those who qualify. There are openings for a physician’s assistant or nurse practitioners. Not surprisingly, there are many other fields with vacant positions.

The financial field has opportunities for financial planners and analysts. If this doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, you may want to try something in the manufacturing field. Computer control programmers are in great demand by employers. Whatever your field is, I wish you good job hunting and a rewarding career!
