Finishing the Fence

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

The outgoing Bush administration ordered that a fence be erected along the U.S. and Mexican borders. This border generally follows the Rio Grande River. Some problems have arisen with the path the fence was to follow. It turns out that much of this land is privately owned and land owners are reluctant to give up their land. One of the major sticking points is that many acres of private land will end up on the wrong side of the fence.

Being as that land owners will be unable to access their land once the fence is built, they feel their land will become worthless. Lawyers are currently hashing out the issue and everyone is standing by for the outcome. The government is under a lot of pressure to finish the fence, but land owners are rightfully concerned. I’ll be waiting to see the outcome of this dilemma and hope the two sides will find a way to compromise.

One man two phones

The entire buzz lately is about the two new phone sets that are coming out. The first is the iPhone and the second is the Pre. When comparing the two phones, we find that much depends on the user and their preferences. The iPhone has many more applications that you can use to enhance your phoning experience. The Pre is far behind in that area. The next most important area in which there are differences is the keyboards.

The pre has an actual keyboard that is what most people are used to. When using the iPhone, you must tap the glass screen to get things done. The iPhone is a little better when it comes to videos and music, while the Pre gets high marks for email and multiple application use. Whatever phone you choose is up to you. They both are very nice phones with many features. It will be interesting to see which one wins out.

Pesky Pest!

We spend a lot of time in our backyard. We enjoy many activities there and it’s good to spend some quality time together as a family. One problem that used to plague us was mosquitoes. We no longer have that problem! I did some research and found a solution that has improved our outdoor experiences. They are called mosquito traps, and they really work. Wait till you hear about this!

Mosquitoes are very annoying and can be dangerous as well. They have been known to carry diseases like the West Nile Virus. The best way to rid yourselves of this problem is to purchase a trap that helps keep mosquitoes at bay. I know that since we received ours, we have had no more problems. I think you should check out the benefits of getting a trap like we did. It will pay off in the end!
