Stonehenge

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

One of the most popular attractions in Britain is place called Stonehenge. Built sometime around 3,000 BC and 1,600 BC, the circle of giant stones is an inspiration to millions. The attraction draws about 750,000 people a year and is a perennial favorite. The purpose of the monument is still unknown. Some believe it is part of an ancient calendar, while others believe it is a place of healing. Whatever it’s purpose, it is a popular place.

Each year during the summer solstice, thousands gather at the spot to celebrate the longest day of the year. Many people swear that they derive a feeling of healing and empowerment when they touch the stones. This is one place that I have never been to, but I am sure that I would like to visit it one day!

The Future

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

My niece is just starting out in life and looking for a career. Since she is very concerned about the environment, she is looking for something related to that field. We were looking over the possible choices and decided that she may want to become leed accredited . By taking and passing the course, she will be able to let employers know that she has accomplished a worthy goal.

The ability to build the structures we need while at the same time ensuring that they are environmentally friendly is a skill that is in rising demand. By using certain techniques, our buildings can co-exist with nature and save a lot of energy as well as leaving a small imprint on our earth. My niece is very excited about this option and has signed up to take a course in this area.

I know that she will excel during the leed classes she takes. She is interested by the subject and that is an important part of being successful. I think this is the wisest career move she can make at this time. I want her to enjoy her life as well as adding to society and this seems to be a great way to do it!

Father’s day

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

Every third Sunday in June, we celebrate Father’s day. At this time of year, I am glad to honor my dad and thank him for all he has done for me. Thanks a lot Dad! My dad is the greatest person I know. He has always been there for me even when I didn’t do the right things. His gentle guidance has allowed me to grow and has brought out the best in me.
I just wanted to take some time and say that I love my dad and always will!

Awards and More

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

Our office usually celebrates the end of the busy season with a blowout party and award session at a local hotel. Each year we honor the best people with various awards. We find that giving out corporate awards help to maintain morale and build confidence in our workforce. This year is no different and we are all looking forward to the event.

Our office also sponsors many little league teams. We supply equipment and uniforms to the kids so that they can have fun playing their games without worrying about how to pay for it. At the end of each season, we supply the Softball Trophies as well as the Baseball Trophies that the kids have won. We make sure that every child receives some kind of award. We find this to be very rewarding for all involved.

We have been dealing with the same trophy supplier for many years. They are called trophiesales.com and they carry all the different items we need. They have always done a great job with our orders and have not let us down yet. I am always glad to be the one who orders the trophies each year because it is both rewarding and easy.

2012

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

With the new movie called 2012 coming out soon, there is much debate as to whether or not the prophecy of the coming of the end of the world is true or false. The ancient Mayan’s calendar ends on 12/21/2012. This has led to many people who speculate that the end of the world is near. As to how this will happen is another question.

Some predict that solar flares will be the cause; others believe that a shifting of the earth’s plates will cause a massive tidal wave. Others believe a sudden shift of the earth’s magnetic fields will bring the end. No matter how it happens or even if it happens will be a matter of much debate in the coming years.
