Homeless in Fresno

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

In the city of Fresno, tent city is known as the place where thousands of people live without houses. Many of the people who subsist here have lost their jobs or had serious medical issues that caused them financial disaster. Life here is hard without clean running water and the many conveniences we take for granted every day. There may be help on the way though.

The federal stimulus package has allowed some local and state authorities to work on alleviating the homelessness problem. Some of the money they received will go toward placing these people into housing and giving them a chance at a normal life. I hope this plan works and that some good will come from the money we owe!

A safe career

My niece is just starting out of high school next fall and was wondering what she wanted to do with her life. She is a sweet girl and is interested in many fields. I think the one area where she would excel would be in the field of health care. This is one of the fastest growing fields in our troubled economy and I believe she would have a nice future there.

Alexi (my niece) has been interested in receiving caregiver training in order to become better able to perform the jobs she wants to have. This is very satisfying to us as a family as we all want her to succeed. I thought I might be able to help her along and so I did some research and found a cool site where she can find the materials to help her training. I hope she will be able to take advantage of it.

I think that one of the best decisions she can make is to start early in her life and become experienced in her field. I believe that if she receives home health care training, she will be able to count on a successful career that will always be in demand. I know she will do well in this area as she really enjoys helping people.

Late night snacks

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Every once in a while I get really hungry at night. I don’t know what makes me get up and go down to the fridge looking for a late night snack. I hold open the door and look in hoping I’ll find just the thing to assuage my hunger. Every once in awhile, I’ll have a bowl of cereal or maybe some cold leftovers. I know I’ll pay for it later health wise, but it seems it’s always worth it!

The best performances

Our office has many employees who are trying to get ahead. They all try hard to be the one that the boss notices. We thought that by giving the employees a little more incentive to do so, they would try even harder. That’s why we have decided to start rewards programs to recognize the best employees we have and make sure they receive the credit they deserve. I know that the free enterprise system has proven itself to be the best over the years and we want to take advantage of that.

People perform much better when they know their efforts will be recognized. Some people want glory, some want money; some just don’t want anyone else to have it! Whatever the reason, when people are trying harder, the company benefits, our brand new employee rewards programs should bring about the results we desire. I have noticed the change first hand and found myself competing as well.

I have always thought that letting people know they are appreciated, they will go over and above to perform their jobs. I believe that since we have instituted these new programs, our production has skyrocketed. I’ll be glad to be the one who gets to congratulate all the fine folks here when they receive their just due!
