A little different

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Since it will be my wife’s birthday soon, I knew I would have to come up with something to get her. I didn’t think she would be happy with a gift card, so I had to find something a little more original. I was at work and one of the girls in the office got a delivery, that’s when the idea became clear. I knew I had found the answer.

My idea was to purchase one of those gift baskets for women. I thought that she would really appreciate the thought and be able to enjoy the items that it contained. There was a variety of things inside I knew she would enjoy. Women really love to receive gifts like this and I was happy to find something she would like. Once I took care of that, something else crossed my mind.

My wife recently brought home a stray cat and took her in. I thought that by getting one of those pet gift baskets, I could welcome the cat (Isis) into the house. The whole thing worked out beautifully and I was able to kill two birds with one stone. Now that the women have received the treats, I can go back to worrying about other things!

Help Me Out!

Some days things just don’t go right. No matter how you try, nothing wants to go. Today has been one of those days for me and I just don’t know what to do about it. My boss was in a bad mood when I arrived at work and no matter what I did, he was not pleased. When I was finally able to leave work, I got caught in traffic. When I arrived home, I realized that I had forgotten to pick up some things at the store for my wife. I’ll be glad when to day is over!

A new look for us

The house has been a main focus for us lately. We have spent a lot of time and money trying to fix it up. We decided that it was time to dress up the bedroom by purchasing one of those Croscill bedding sets. We thought that it would add the final touch we needed to make the house a truly wonderful place. I was glad when we received delivery of our new furniture and the way it looked in our room.

Since we were on a roll, we decided that new curtains would also be a great idea. I found a site named thecurtainshop.com that had a great variety of curtains to pick from. We were delighted when we found out that we could afford to redo the entire house. Now that the curtains are installed, we are glad to show off the house to our neighbors.

One of the best aspects of the site was the ability to shop online. That saved us a lot of time running around town to every store there was. I was also happy to find that we were eligible for free shipping on our order. Another area where they excelled was in the customer service department. They answered all our questions and made us feel like friends. I highly recommend that everyone check out this site when appropriate.

It’s about Time

I’ve heard through the grapevine that the Department of Homeland Security is finally thinking about getting rid of the much maligned Color code terror alert system. This system has been the ridicule of many late night comedians and the public at large. I certainly hope that the end is coming for this most time wasting, money costing, idiotic system.

I love this country with all my heart. There are times though when I have to shake my head in wonder at who’s the genus behind this embarrassment. I certainly hope that our government will do better in the future and make the citizens of this proud nation able to respect this important department. I say goodbye color code!
