A new Style

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Since we spent so much time fixing up the house, we thought that it would be a good idea to bring in some new furniture to complete the work we started. My wife had very specific goals for how the house would look when we got done with the remodeling and she wanted to be sure she got what she wanted. My wife was insistent that we find the most modern furniture store available. That way she would be able to have a wide variety of items to choose from.

Being an old fashioned guy, I was a little weary of the idea at first, but after viewing some of the items for sale, I changed my mind. We ended up getting the latest modern bedroom furniture to fill out the room. Now that we had set the trend, we knew we would have to continue down this path. That was not a problem to do.

Since the rest of the house was modern, we decided that there was no point in stopping now. We wanted to be sure that the ensemble was complete. After some debate, we finally decided to purchase a modern platform bed that we both liked. Now that we have
accepted delivery of the furniture and installed it in our house, we are both satisfied that it was the right decision. We are always happy to receive company as it gives us a chance to show off the new look.

Cats, People and Food

A new study out shows some evidence that cats are able to manipulate people into giving them food by their Meows. Karen McComb says that the animals meow mixed with a high pitched cry taps into the human nurturing instinct. Since I have owned several cats over the years, I believe this to be true. I know when my cat is just meowing and when he meows for food it’s a different type of meow. Cats are smarter than most people give them credit for and this is just one more example.

The Best Getaway!

Our company is always sponsoring trips for key personnel to visit with our clients. We wanted to try something new and we found the best way ever to impress our customers. We hosted an event at the Cubs roof top. We had a great time and everyone was happy. I can’t describe all the good things we found there.

First of all, the view of the game was magnificent. It seemed as if we were right on top of home plate. Another good thing was that no matter where you were, they had plasma screens with the game on so there was no way you could miss anything! The food was wonderful. They had every type of food you could want at a ball park. You could even get all you wanted.

One thing that many people mentioned was the fact that they have very nice bathrooms. This is very important when at a game. The convenience of not having to wait in a line to use a dirty bathroom cannot be overstated. The bar was open the whole time and we even had time for some pregame partying. I had a great time at this event and our company was extremely satisfied with the rave reviews by our clients!

The Economy and Schools

Since retailers have suffered a long winter and summer, they are hoping to make up some monetary ground by having a strong back to school selling period. Unfortunately, this may not be the case. Parents are planning to make some major cutbacks in their spending this year. The economy is the culprit. Stores are hoping to lure in the customers with discounts and sales. I hope people can spend whatever money they have to help get the money flowing!
