A Trip for us all

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

I have been thinking about taking my family on a trip. I was unsure where we would go until I remembered my friend had just gone on a trip of his own. After talking with him, I decided to look into Alaskan cruises . I thought it would be a great way for the family to spend some time together. After I looked into the situation more seriously, I knew I had been right.

I talked to my friend and he described a site that would help me a lot. He steered me to a site called cruiselocators.com. This site is where I was able to book the trip and start us on our way. The best part was that I was able to find exclusive deals that I hadn’t found anywhere else. The price was more that acceptable and the service was great.

After I told my family that we were going to Alaska, they were all ready to go. The kids were really happy to find that we were going to a place that they had seen many TV shows about. My wife had been to Alaska before and she was happy to know that she would be going back. I have never been there, but I am looking forward to the opportunity.

The Dentist

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

Yesterday I was able to get an appointment at the dentist. I was surprised that they had an opening. Anyway, I went because I had a tooth that was cutting my tongue. I have a back tooth that is very sharp and I needed it to be filed down. The visit went ok except for the fact that I spent a half-hour in the waiting room. After that, I was finally invited into the back.

The dentist looked at my tooth and started to file it down. It took about five minutes and did not hurt at all. The bad part is that when he was done, I went out to pay the bill. I was definitely surprised that it would cost$110 dollars. I didn’t think it was worth that much. I must be in the wrong business.

Making it Right!

Since we had decided to redo our kitchen, we were at a loss as to what kind of tile to put down. We did some looking around and were surprised to find just what we were looking for. Our neighbor had metal wall tiles installed in his kitchen and we fell in love with them immediately. My wife and I looked at each other and we knew we had found just what we were looking for.

The tiles that my neighbor had installed looked so good in his kitchen that we were surprised. I never even knew that they made tiles like this. I couldn’t believe how they matched the equipment that he had. They looked like they were put in by a professional home decorator. As soon as we got home, we looked into purchasing some.

We looked online and found a site called glasstilestore.com. We were delighted to find the very tiles we had seen. Since the price was right, we decided to order some right away. We now have our very own metal tiles in our kitchen. They look so good that everyone has commented on them. I am glad that we were able to get the look we wanted with so little trouble. It always pays to keep your eyes open!

In God We Trust

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

There has been somewhat of a fight over the fact that the new Capitol Visitor Center is set to have the words ‘In God We Trust” engraved on its walls. A lawsuit has been filed to stop the engraving by the Freedom From Religion Foundation. The plan was approved by the house and senate. The Pledge of Allegiance is also planned to be engraved on the building.

I understand that there are many people who do not believe in god. But I must say that these people are in the minority. Our country was built on the fact that god was involved. The movement to shut god out I hope is destined to fail.

Upping the Population

My neighbor across the street is pregnant. Her name is Cheryl and she is expecting soon. Cheryl is a wonderful girl and her husband is serving overseas. Cheryl has come over to our house numerous times asking advise from my wife. We have helped her through the pains of having her first child. One of the questions she has asked about is clothes. Since we have been through this experience before, we thought we would help her out.

My wife and I discovered that her birthday is coming soon. We decided that getting her some Maternity Clothes would be a good idea. It’s always nice to buy a gift that you know someone can use. We had done some shopping online and found a wonderful pair of Maternity Jeans that we thought she would like. We guessed at the size she would need, but we think we got it right.

Since we had gone that far, we decided that one more step wouldn’t hurt. Since she plans to breastfeed her baby, we thought that getting her a Hooter Hider would be a good idea as well. That way, she can have the freedom to feed her baby without a lot of trouble or fuss. I was glad that we could help Cheryl through her time of need. I think we may be in the running for being godparents.
