Hello or Goodbye?

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

We’ve all been hearing a lot about the upcoming resignation of Alaska’s governor Sarah Palin. She is scheduled to resign this Sunday. What has everyone intrigued is what she will do next. She has been vague about her plans for what the future holds. There is much speculation that she may be planning a run for the presidency in 2012.

One thing is for sure, she will keep busy until then. She has plans to write a book and is engaging in a speaking tour. We also expect to see her on the morning talk shows from time to time. There are many people waiting to find out what she will do next. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

I just wanted to send a quick shout out to all those who invest. I found a great site called monitorbankrates.com that keeps an eye on the best CD Rates at Banks. It’s really a cool site and provides the information needed to make an intelligent decision about investing. I think that everyone should take a minute to check it out and see what you think. I hope you like the site as well as I.

In my eye

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

I have to report an amazing thing that happened to me today. There is some construction work going on in front of our office. I was walking out in order to go to lunch. The workers were grinding some metal and the chips were flying about. The wind was up and I walked by without notice. The bad part was that a metal chip flew into my eye. I knew what had happened right away.

I spent the rest of the day trying to dislodge the chip. No matter what I tried, it wouldn’t budge. I finally had a friend drive me to the eye doctor where I had it removed. It cost me $25 bucks but was worth every penny. I had thought about suing the company that was performing the work, but decided not to as it was just bad luck!

Helping to See

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Every once in a while, something comes up that you have to take care of, one of these instances came up the other day. I had invited a friend over to the house to enjoy a dinner with us. We had the dinner ready but my friend hadn’t appeared. I was wondering what happened to him when I got a call. My friend couldn’t find our house. It turns out that the street numbers on our block are very difficult to read.

I looked into the situation and decided that I needed to do something about it. I went online and found a site called justaddressplaques.com that had the address plaques I needed. These plaques would help people see our address clearly from the road. I never realized that these address signs for homes were so important. I decided to purchase one right away.

Now that I have had my address plaque installed, I feel so much better. It looks great on our house and it was easy and quick. I’m glad that everyone will have no problems identifying our home. The next time I invite someone over, I will have confidence that they will enjoy the wonderful sign that points to our home and not be late for dinner!

The Guinea pig

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

I was reading an article about pets and the movies. It seems that whenever an animal is featured in a movie, thousands of people rush out to buy the animal. The most famous case is the 101 Dalmatians syndrome where after being featured in the movie, thousands of the animals were bought. The problem is that after people find that the animals do not act as they do in the movie, they get rid of them. This causes thousands of the pets to be put up for adoption.

This is what’s happening now with the Guinea pig. Being featured in the movie entitled “G-Force”, they are being bought up by parents. I hope that these people realize that these pets require a lot of attention and care. I hope that people will practice self restraint!
