Not quite there
Thursday, August 27th, 2009As American troops have started their wind down of the occupation of Iraq, we see that there is still a lot of work to be done in the area of security. Recent bombings of important government buildings prove that the Iraqi security forces still have a long way to go before they are ready to take over the countries security duties. The problem is persistent and worrisome.
The bombings have shaken the confidence of the Iraqi public and forced changes in the current security system. The Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has promised to strengthen security measures and has tried to placate the outraged public. We will watch and see what the outcome to this tough problem will be.
