Finally Home

In 1991, Navy pilot Michael Speicher’s plane went down over the sandy desert in Iraq. He has been missing ever since. Despite intensive searching, his remains were never found – until now. A tip from a local villager finally led authorities to the body that was apparently buried by a traveling band of Bedouins.

The remains have been positively identified from dental records. The Navy department is glad to have found his remains and promises that they’ll always search for members that are missing. The family is saddened that they have confirmed his death, but is glad to know that they finally have him home.
