One lesson I have learned throughout the years is that life is not always perfect. No matter how much we try, people make mistakes. This is just a part of doing business that we have learned to live with.

I can’t believe the storm that came through my neighborhood today. The rain came down in buckets and absolutely drenched the entire area. Sometimes it’s hard to believe how fast the rain can start to flood an area when it pours like this. I am glad I didn’t have to drive anywhere today as I did some shopping earlier in the day.

Of course the cable went out as well. My internet is down and I’ll have to add this post when it comes back on. I hope it will not be too long. I am sure this storm will blow over as all the many others did, but I’ll remember this one for awhile!

Since the economic outlook has not been so good, food banks around the country are feeling the strain. With few options, they have found help in an unlikely place. Local inmates are being tapped as a resource for the growing and collection of food. To date, several states have taken advantage of inmate labor to plant and harvest food.

I think this is a great idea. I believe that it will help not only people who need food assistance, but also will do the inmates some good as well. Inmates are able to learn skills related to food production as well as food safety. I applaud all those who support this idea.

Every once in awhile, life can throw you a curve ball. This happened to my cousin’s husband who lives in California. He was accused of a crime that we are sure he did not commit.
