Things that work

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Being as that I work in a large office, we run across a lot of computer problems. Since everybody generally comes to me to have them fixed, I need to have a wide variety of tools at my disposal. That’s why I like a site I found that’s called regwork.com. They have an excellent free registry cleaner. It’s a great way to eliminate many of the common problems I run across.

Even though our office policy is not to visit unauthorized sites, many people do so anyway. This leads to many unwanted changes to the windows registry. Various sites will download cookies and make changes to your registry that slow down a computer. This program does wonders for every computer I run it on.

When someone comes to me with a problem, one of the first things I do is run this program. Nine times out of ten it will solve the problem right away. If the problem is not solved, then at least I can start to troubleshoot knowing that I have a clean registry when I begin. I think that everyone should check out the site for more information and consider for yourself whether you need it. I am confident that you may think it’s necessary. Let me know how it turns out.

Road Trip

Monday, September 28th, 2009

This weekend we went on a road trip to visit an old friend of mine. His name is Skip and he is married to Barbara. The interesting thing about Skip is that he lives in a dome. Three domes to be exact. Unlike regular houses, domes are a lot different. Not only are they round, they are made of concrete and are tough as nails. A dome can survive nearly any natural disaster you can think of.

The dome has other advantages as well. The temperature stays about the same no matter what the weather is like outside. There is little need for air conditioning or heating. This saves Skip a lot of money on his heating and cooling bills. I hope that anyone who is interested in this unique style of home would let me know and I will send you his address so you can check it out for yourself.

Good work for us

I was reading an article about a woman who was killed in an accident involving a drunk driver. Of course I can always sympathize with the victim in a case like this, but I was surprised to find that her family was awarded $11 million dollars. I never dreamed that it would pay so much. I thought I would look into the case a little deeper.

I found that she was represented by some very good injury lawyers. They were from a firm called Feldman Shepherd. I looked up their website and decided to check it out. I was amazed at all the cases they have taken and won. Many of the cases were for big money as well. It was really impressive to read about their firm and the good work they do.

Another thing I liked about the firm was the wide variety of cases they handled. They are involved in everything from Auto accidents to Toxic Substances. It seems that the firm is based in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, so I thought that if anything ever happened to me in that area, I would call them first. I am glad that there are competent people looking out for the rights of others!

Guantanamo Bay

Friday, September 25th, 2009

There has been a lot of turmoil surrounding the operations at Guantanamo Bay prison. Throughout the years, American’s have help captives of the war on terror in this shady facility. Located in Cuba, the prison has few of the safeguards that American prisoners receive. The treatment of prisoners there has been questioned by many of the top brass at the pentagon. Others say the facility is needed to provide information on other terror suspects. I think the prison should be closed as soon as possible.
