Not what it seems

Monday, September 21st, 2009

When President Obama got elected, he promised change. I was skeptical, but had high hopes. Unfortunately, he has failed on one important issue that I am concerned about. The environment. It seems that the new guidelines from the environmental protection Agency to regulate gas mileage are full of loopholes.

Carmakers have successfully lobbied for and received numerous important loopholes to the new legislation. This has left the public with phantom savings in gas mileage calculations. I had hoped that the Obama administration would know better, but it looks like the same old congress we always had.

Money for Money

One thing that I have been thinking about a lot lately is the fact that the economy is down. As I think about my financial future, I believe that this may be a good time to start investing while stocks are down. I am lucky to have some extra money that I have carefully saved and want to invest it. That’s why I started to look into Stock Trading as a way to make money with the money I have.

I was glad to find that trading with stocks can be done from home. I thought that I would take advantage of my computer and try some Online Trading. I was lucky to find a good site called firstrade.com that makes it easy to do. They have very low fees for trading so that I can make money and not lose it all back to a broker. They have a few other nice features as well.

One thing that I was worried about was security. I was happy to find that they have that all taken care of. I also have access to the services of an Online Broker if I need it. I think that’s a good idea for people like me who are just starting out. I feel confident that I am making a good financial move. I want to ensure that my finances are well in order as I get older. Using my money to make money sounds like a good idea to me!

A great day!!

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Hello everybody! I was very happy to wake up in a good mood today. I was finally able to have good nights sleep and feel very good this morning. The weather was a little cloudy when I got up, but now the sun is shining like me. I am looking forward to having a great day and want to get many things done.

I have some yard work to do as well as some shopping. I want to get a few new pairs of pants as my old ones are getting kind of shabby. I see a trip to the store will be necessary. I may also stop by a friend’s house to catch up on what’s happening there. I always look forward to a wonderful day and I think this may be one!

Videos

With all the new technology these days, there are plenty of things to see and do. One thing we like to do around our house is to watch and share videos. There are thousands of them on the internet that involve everything you can imagine. Many are quite good and worth sending along to someone else. The good news is that there is an easy way to download youtube videos.

One problem that can occur from time to time is that there are a few types of videos that may not be compatible with your system. It can be a frustrating experience, but there is an easy way around that as well. There is a great site where you can convert and download youtube videos. The site is called voydo.com and it works great.

Now that we have found a way to easily solve the technical glitches that arise from time to time, we have plenty of videos to watch. I saw one with a cat in a hat the other day that was hilarious! I am glad to know that there are so many people with funny and interesting things to share. I think it’s good to laugh once in a while in order to melt away some of the tensions in life.

China and the U.S.

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

One thing I heard about today was that President Barack Obama has imposed a 35% tariff on cheap Chinese tire imports. Despite warnings from experts that this could lead to a trade war, I am all for it. For too long, China has taken advantage of the American dollar that has enabled it to gain unfair trade policies.

I hope that the president will stand strong and ignore those who advocate our passive trade policies. I think that no matter what, we will come out stronger in the end if we rid ourselves of China’s junk!
