2012 End or Not

Monday, October 12th, 2009

There have been many predictions that say the world will end in the 2012. The most famous of these is the Mayan calendar which supposedly ends on this date. The bad part is that scientists have forgotten to admit that there some dates in the Mayan calendar that go far beyond this date. One date is equivalent to the year 4772.

I know that Hollywood would have us believe that the world will end soon in order for them to sell their movies. I say that this is all a bunch of make believe that has no scientific foundation. I hope that everyone will come to their senses and act in accordance with reason!

Expanding Visibility

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

Since the business that I work for has been trying to expand, we have worked hard to ensure that our branch offices get off to a good start. One of the best ways to do that is to be online. Many of our customers find out about us through our websites. Having a great webpage is important as well as being found during a customers search online.

Recently we added a new office in North Carolina. We decided to utilize a search engine optimization regimen to increase the traffic to our site. We were lucky to find a great company that could help us with our quest for a Charlotte SEO. We took advantage of a site called webfullcircle.com that helped us gain the visibility we wanted.

We feel that taking care of our customers is important. It is equally important to gain new customers as well. I think that we are off to a good start in this case because we got help from professionals who know what they are doing. I am glad it has worked out so well.

Don’t ask, Don’t tell!

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

Being as that there was a large rally today in Washington, I thought I’d throw my two cents in. Thousands of gays and lesbians marched together to show their support for President Barack Obama’s promise to allow gays to serve in the military openly. As part of his campaign promises, he promised to end the “Don’t ask don’t tell” policy of the military.

For all I care, I say let them serve if they want. I think everyone should help defend the country from its enemies. We need all the soldiers we can get and there is no sense in not allowing someone to serve if they want. I think the president should keep his promise and allow gays to serve.

Adding to the Family

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

One thing that I really enjoy is the fact that we have a large family. No matter what time of year it is, there is always something going on. Right now, the big news is that my cousin Judy is getting married. We were all a little surprised because no one saw it coming. She met a guy named Joe and they really hit it off.

When she told me the news, I was really happy for her. I offered to help her in any way I could. When she asked my advice about where to get the best wedding invitations, I knew I had a good answer for her. I told her about a great site online called 123print.com that has a selection of items to choose from. I happen to know that they are a trustworthy company and would not let her down.

I talked with her the other day and she thanked me for my help. She was very happy to find the style of invitation she was looking for and couldn’t wait to send them out. I know that she has good taste and I will be glad when I receive mine. I will also be happy when I meet Joe and welcome him to the family!

Darn!

One thing that can be irritating is the Saturday call-in. Every once in a while someone from the office calls and asks me to come in on Saturday in order to take care of some problem that has arisen. Normally, I don’t mind helping out, but sometimes it can be quite a nuisance.

No sooner as I had my coffee ready and began to relax, I got a call. I had planned to work in the garden and take care of some other chores that needed doing. I guess all my plans will be delayed until later. Well, I got to go…
