That Pill!!

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

Since I am reaching a certain age, I have begun to find that my body is not always up to the challenges that I would like to think I am still capable of. While I do take care of myself and am physically fit, I have found that I am not as young as I used to be. That’s why I have begun considering whether or not to buy Viagra. It seems like I am admitting that I am getting old and I am not comfortable talking about it with my doctor.

I looked around online and found that I am not the only one who may need help with their love life. There are plenty of other people who suffer from the same condition as I. One person that I would have never thought would be in this position was Enrique Iglesias. It turns out that he doesn’t care if people know of his position on the subject.

Another star that I never would imagine having to use this medicine was Simon Cowell. It turns out that the popular host of the show American Idol was recently offered a large amount of money to endorse the product. While he turned down the endorsement, I do wonder whether or not he is still using the product! I guess I’ll have to make my own decision on whether or not to seek help with my problem, but it sure is nice knowing that I am not alone!!

Is China joining the world?

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

The country of China recently announced that it will eliminate restrictions on using foreign parts for its windmills. The effort to develop its own domestic power has led to the need to find assistance from foreign companies. The Chinese hope to expand their wind power industry in order to bolster their domestic power programs.

The Chinese are using power at an amazing rate. They are the fastest growing economic power in the world and need all the electricity they can get. I am glad that they are trying to find cleaner ways to produce the power they need. I am sure that it will help reduce the greenhouse gases that they are producing. I hope that China will continue to reach out to the rest of the world for answers to its power needs!

Goodbye Simon

One popular show that I do like to watch on TV is American Idol. I like to see all the people who try out for the show and are especially terrible. I love to hear people who think they can sing but really can’t! The show has been a favorite of mine for years but it seems that it will soon take a turn.

Popular show host Simon Cowell is retiring from the show next year. He will be moving on to host and produce his own British show “The X Factor”. There is much debate on who will replace the star of the show and it will be interesting to see who gets the job. As for me, I just hope the show goes on!

Starting Out

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

My niece Athena is a darling little girl. She recently graduated from college and has married a fine young fellow named Dan. They seem to be very happy together and they remind me of when I was first starting out in life. The two of them are now located in California where Dan is trying to break into the computer field. He has found employment with a major company and is looking to settle down.

Their latest efforts have included the need to find housing until Dan is settled in with his new job. They have looked into finding one of the best San Francisco apartments to stay in while they decide their future. They wanted to be comfortable where they live and have all the amenities that are due to them. They are very particular about where they want to live.

Dan is mostly concerned with the proximity to his job. He does not want to have a long commute to work everyday. Athena has other concerns about whether or not the apartments have a pool or fitness center. She also plans on having a pet someday and so that is also a consideration. I am sure that they will be able to find the perfect place for them. At that age and time, I am sure that just being together will be more than enough for them!!

Finding a Treasure

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

It’s a rare thing when someone finds a true treasure. It happened recently when the Very Rev. David M. O’Connell found one. After becoming the Catholic University president, he found a picture in his bathroom that is reported to be a Rembrandt. The etching turned out to be created by the famous 17th century artist Rembrandt Van Rijn.

While the jury is still out on whether the picture is an original, it could still be worth thousands of dollars. The painting will soon be reviewed by appraisers to see whether or not it is authentic. I hope the world will gain another great work from this exceedingly talented man!
