There has been a huge fight over who has the rights to Peruvian gold lately. Many illegal miners have been mining the gold found in the forest lands of Peru and have been using the very toxic chemical mercury to separate the gold into nuggets. This is an environmental disaster.

The Peruvian government has been trying to enforce laws against the practice and this has led to armed fights against the miners. The streets of many mining towns are very dangerous for everyone. I hope the government of Peru can control this illegal practice and stop the pollution and destruction of this damaging practice.

They are proposing a 731 mile pipeline from their oil sands to the coast in order to easily deliver their gas to China. I certainly wish that the Obama administration could have worked out a deal with Canada so that we could have their gas.

Since I am rising up in status at my job, I am taking on more and more tasks. It seems that the higher I go the more things appear on my desk. I don’t mind that so much as long as the compensation rises with it. That has been happening so far. One thing I have noticed lately is that we need more exposure to the public. It seems that nobody knows who we are or what we do. I wanted to change that if I could.

I looked into some of the various ways that we could advertise. The newspapers were one way and maybe a few radio spots would help as well. As I looked into the situation farther, I realized that I would not have time to keep up with all these things. That’s when I came up with the idea of using an Advertising Agency to do this work for me. After all, it’s good to let the experts do your job whenever possible.

I think I have come to a great conclusion. I will hire some people who can assist us with getting our name known. Though we may have to spend a little money to start with, the pay off will be big in the end. I believe that those who are higher up in my company will agree with my ideas. I certainly hope that they will as our company needs to grow. I believe that using this strategy will help us do just that. I guess we’ll just have to see if I am right or not.

The state of Alaska has actually enjoyed a surplus this year and has plans to expand their roads and bridges. Another state that is doing well is West Virginia. They are paying back some of the money they have borrowed before.

I believe that as a whole, America is still a strong nation. When one state suffers, another will come shining through. This is what makes America great and I believe in its people. I hope everyone else does too.

One thing that I could never live without is my car. I rely on it for everything. When I go out in the driveway to start it, I expect it to work. That’s why I was very disappointed when it failed to start the other day. It turns out that all I needed was a jump start as my battery had gotten low, but it got me to thinking about taking it in for some general maintenance.

The problem I had was that even though I have been living in this area for awhile, I never really found a ford repair shop that I was happy with. I naturally don’t trust repair shops and I can be quite picky about the work they do. I started looking around online to see if I could find another shop to find. I found a few new places and decided to try one.

In the end, I found a shop I liked. My car got some of the love and care it needed and I feel much about its reliability. I’ll have to tell all my friends about the new shop I found. It won’t be too long before I will have to buy a new car, but I hope this one will last for awhile longer.

One thing that my company likes to do is to enter into the various trade shows that deal with our line of work. We go all over the country and participate whenever we can. It’s fun and interesting but sometimes it can get a little hectic. With so many people coming up to our stand, it can get a little hard to deal with. That’s why we decided to do something about crowd control for our display.

At first we thought that barricades may be the answer. But after thinking about it for awhile, we thought that might be a little too much to deal with. They are bulky and heavy and our staff didn’t want to go through a lot of setup. In the end, we decided that we could get away with just using velvet rope and stanchions to move people through our lines. It has helped us control the crowd in a non- confrontational way.

Now our displays are much more orderly. Everybody gets their chance to see our goods without interruptions from others who may interested. The whole thing has worked out very well for our crew and everyone is happy. I am always glad when we find a solution to a problem that helps us as well as our customers.

New reports have come out saying that the federal budget ran a deficit of $80 million dollars for the month of December. While this number is down from last December, it is still worrying for many economists. The total deficit is projected to be around $1.3 trillion dollars for the coming year.

The deficit is staggering and has many worried that the financial security of the U.S. is in danger. Efforts to close the gap have largely failed and there seems to be no end in sight. The economy is slightly improving though and some hold out hope that this will improve the situation. I sure hope it does.

There has been some talk about eliminating pennies altogether. The idea has not been popular and so things will continue as they are for now. The budget is busting though and the pressure is building to eliminate the penny or change the materials it’s made of. For now, all we can do is turn in your pennies!!!

One thing I love about my job is that there are many perks. I do a lot of traveling around meeting clients and that brings a whole lot of chances to spend company money. While the money is mostly spent on my clients, I also get to spend some on myself. A recent golfing trip comes to mind where I got to do what I wanted while maintaining the company’s interests.

One thing a lot of my clients like to do is golf. We go out on the course and play a few rounds while discussing business. It can be hard to get tee times on occasion, so I use a site called www.48hourteetimes.com. It is easy to use and allows me to set up a game on short notice. This is important when I have clients who need to be taken care of.

There are a number of things I like about the site. The site lists all the openings for a number of courses. I can book my last minute tee time and save money as well. I can choose the date and time I need to book. Another good aspect is that there is no membership fee to use the site. Thanks to 48 hour tee times, I look good in front of my clients.

This is despite recent news that the private sector has been cutting jobs instead of creating them. We learned today that over 10,000 jobs were cut in august by private companies.

This trend is threatening to extend the recovery and possibly throw us back into the mess we were trying so hard to get out of. I hope that these big companies will find a way to hold on to the workers they have and maybe even hire a few more. It sure would be good news.

One thing I love about my job is that I get to travel a lot. I have been to many wonderful places and have enjoyed them all. The only problem I have had is that occasionally my transportation has not been reliable. It can be devastating when you’re on the side of the road in a strange place. This happened to me recently when I was on my last trip. I’ll tell you the story.

I had to go to a convention in California. I caught a flight there but decided to rent a car. I thought it would be the most convenient way to get around. I ended up with a Honda accord. I have driven this kind of car before and really liked it. The car is usually reliable and drives well. This particular car did have a problem though. The timing belt went out and had to be replaced.

I was lucky to find a San Francisco auto repair shop that could help. The belt was replaced in a few minutes and I was back on the road. I was nice to know that I would be on time for the convention. I guess traveling is all about adventure and I had plenty of it. I am looking forward to my next trip and hoping it goes better this time.

Despite the hopes of millions of people, the U.S. economy is still sluggish. The latest numbers to come out of Washington show that unemployment is still high and new jobs are not being created at the necessary pace to allow for a complete recovery. This has many people scared about the future.

There are a few bright spots in the economy such as manufacturing which has risen slightly. Construction is still down as are the temporary jobs. Plans to raise the amount of cash needed for companies to work with are in the works and other options to stimulate the economy are being considered. I hope we can make it through these tough times.
