Protecting our oceans

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

There has been some debate lately over who will protect our oceans. A recent die off of nearly 8,000 birds off the coast of Washington state has renewed the debate. An alga appears to have caused the deaths. The algae may have been caused by run off waters that contain fertilizers and other chemicals.

As usual, back in Washington D.C., the senators and congress are trying to get their act together. So far, little has been done to put together some kind of oversight to protect the waters that we all depend on to live. I hope they will be able to put aside their differences and find a way to work together so that we can enjoy our oceans.

Videos

With all the new technology these days, there are plenty of things to see and do. One thing we like to do around our house is to watch and share videos. There are thousands of them on the internet that involve everything you can imagine. Many are quite good and worth sending along to someone else. The good news is that there is an easy way to download youtube videos.

One problem that can occur from time to time is that there are a few types of videos that may not be compatible with your system. It can be a frustrating experience, but there is an easy way around that as well. There is a great site where you can convert and download youtube videos. The site is called voydo.com and it works great.

Now that we have found a way to easily solve the technical glitches that arise from time to time, we have plenty of videos to watch. I saw one with a cat in a hat the other day that was hilarious! I am glad to know that there are so many people with funny and interesting things to share. I think it’s good to laugh once in a while in order to melt away some of the tensions in life.

Reminders

One article that I read today reminded me of something important. It seems that due to the economic slowdown, donations to food banks around the world have slowed. This in turn has caused aid to the world’s poorest nation to slowdown as well. This in turn has left record numbers of people hungry who could be fed.

I hope that everyone who reads this article will take a few minutes to reflect on the fact of how lucky they are. People who live in America on even a modest income could probably still afford to give a few dollars to keep people from starving. I hope that you will consider giving these needy people a chance to live.

Easy Money!!

Since I haven’t talked about my daughter Lisa in awhile, I thought I would fill you in on the latest news. She is doing well and has almost completed her college courses. She will be looking for full time employment soon and that will be good for her. I also wanted to let you know about the way she has been earning extra money during her college years.

Lisa has learned How to Make Money Blogging. It’s a great way to make some extra dough to spend on whatever you like. I think she spent most of her money on clothes. Anyway, the best part about it is that due to the Revenue Sharing feature, you can even make money while you sleep.

All you have to do is visit a site called yousaytoo.com and check it out. I’m sure you will be impressed on how easy it is to do. You just have to start a blog and then start Blogging for Money. You’ll see that it is well worth your time and can be done at your leisure. Other than that, Lisa is enjoying her college days and will be coming home for a visit soon. I’ll be glad to see her and happy that she won’t be asking for money!

Every once in awhile, life can throw you a curve ball. This happened to my cousin’s husband who lives in California. He was accused of a crime that we are sure he did not commit. We looked all around to find the best representation we could find. In the end, he was proven innocent and the case was closed. We all knew that would happen.

One interesting thing we found during this whole ordeal was the Los Angeles Criminal Defense Lawyer Blog. The blog is full of useful information and helps us keep up to date on the latest in legal news. I certainly recommend that everyone check it out when you have time and learn a little about your rights to legal representation. I hope you never need it, but you never know!
