Maybe we can find somewhere that is a little of both. I guess time will tell. Anyway I hope to see you there.

Guest post written by Henrietta Raskin

I’m loving my little kitchen in my apartment. I’m so glad that I have a decent sized one that I can actually move around in and use for some real entertaining. I’m starting to be quite the little homemaker, except I’m only making a home for myself. And I have to say that it’s a pretty awesome little home.

I love doing extra things when I’m preparing my food, like setting the table even though I’m the only one. I also love cooking with an apron on, but my old one was starting to fall apart so I decided to make a new one. When I was browsing craft blogs and apron patterns I found some info on debt counseling options. That’s a personal finance issue that I’ve had for a few years and I know that I have to take care of it because no one else will. So I’m going to get some counseling and help my financial situation.

I fell in love with this one cute apron and knew that I had to make it for myself. I also found some great fabric that matches my kitchen curtains, so it’s fate!

After the parade was over (it was very good) we all went to a local park and had a huge cookout. We were able to secure the last open grill and we had plenty to eat. I am sure that we will all remember this day for a long time.

internetPosted by Gaylord Campbell

I am a little bit obsessed with American Idol. I have watched every season and I love everything about it. I cannot carry a tune, so I am so impressed by people who do. Last season I was watching the final results show where all of the contestant from the whole season come back and sing. They usually drag the show out to last two hours and then at the very end they reveal who the new American Idol is. Unfortunately, it had been storming and during the last few minutes of the show, my cable went out. I was so frustrated. I could not believe that I watched almost two hours and then I missed what happened at the end. I did not want to find out the next day on the news or from anyone at school. I decided to go online and search for the results. The results had come up within a few minutes after the show ended. I am so glad that I did not have to be out of the loop and I was able to find out who the winner was. I am also glad that I went to satellitestarinternet.com to set up our internet, so I can use it for things like this.

This is the time of year that I love. Today the Super Bowl will be played and I have been looking forward to it for a long time. I am having some friends over to the house for the event and I know that everyone will be as excited as I am. We will have some food so everyone can eat.

This kind of event only happens once a year and so we plan to make the most of it. There will something for everyone I believe. I am fortunate to have a large house and so we will have plenty of room. I am sure it will all go well.

Anyway, I was saddened to hear that one of the key players in the show died today. His name was Dick Tufeld and he was the voice of the robot.

Dicks most famous line was when he said “Danger, Will Robinson!” it became one of the best catch phrases ever. Dick was 85 and started a new adventure this week when he died at his home. Goodbye Dick.

Thanks for the article from Adrian Waller

In an age where so much of the daily television lineup consists of so-called “reality” TV, it’s refreshing to stumble across the rare educational program that manages to both captivate and educate its’ audience at the same time. For me, Mythbusters is the best show on TV today that teaches its’ viewers about science in a unique and exciting new format. Science isn’t just for geeks anymore; it has finally moved into the mainstream and become cool. With humorous and knowledgeable hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, along with their band of wacky, tech-savy co-hosts Grant Imahara, Kari Byron and Tony Belleci, they work to find answers to the plausibility of viewer-submitted myths. Utilizing theories derived from a variety of scientific disciplines including, physics, biology, and chemistry, this talented group of individuals is able to find real-world answers to some of the most persistent myths around. Covering myths from numerous subject areas such as animals, sports, technology, and food, these experts either prove or disprove many popular ideas. Have you ever wondered: Are elephants really afraid of mice? Can salsa actually eat through the iron bars of a jail cell? Does mixing beer and liquor really make you sick? The Mythbusters are here to answer those questions for you amidst humorous banter that solidifies the overall appeal of the show. Mythbusters airs every Wednesday night on the Discovery Channel on www.tvbydirect.com. I highly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in seeing exactly how much of our daily lives actually revolve around science.

One thing I like is that I have family all across the United States. It seems that I am always hearing from some cousin or another from different states. I recently heard from my cousin randy who lives in Arkansas. He recently bought a house and is doing very well. He asked that I give him some advice on how to best protect his home from the many threats that are consistent with this age.

Randy has two kids and I know he wants to keep them safe. There are many threats including fires, floods, and even carbon monoxide. That’s not to mention burglars and thieves. I told randy to check out home security barling. I knew they could help him get the protection he needed. They are leaders in the field of home security.

Randy had some other questions as well. He loves to watch his football games and wanted to know what the best way to do that was. I told him to check out DirectTV as an option. They could provide him with all the programming he could want at an affordable rate. I am sure that randy and his family will do well in their new home. I wish them all the luck in the world and am glad to know I could help them stay safe and entertained.

Guest post by Gerard McDaniel

I’m totally addicted to reality television. My whole family makes fun of me because you’d never catch me watching the news or anything of substance. I think my favorite reality show (if you can call it that) is Say Yes to the Dress on TLC which I sometimes stream on the internet that I got through www.CLEAR-INTERNET.com. Its basic premise is that women go to Kleinfeld’s bridal salon in New York City and try on wedding dresses. That’s it! The women inevitably get into fights with their mothers or bridesmaids over their fashion sense and some of the ladies chose the most outrageous, terrible dresses! The consultants try so hard to make the sales, but a lot of these women are just insufferable. I can’t even fathom how much some of these people spend on their wedding dress – I’ve seen women on the show spend up to twelve thousand dollars. FOR A DRESS! Can you even imagine? The fiancés of a lot of these girls have to have patience of steel because a lot of the girls are total princesses. I don’t know if I could make it through one day working at Kleinfeld’s!

Last year On New Year’s Eve, I was flipping around the channels on my satellite tv and came across MTV’s New Year’s Eve Top 9 of 2009. I didn’t expect much from a show with such a basic premise, but every time they reviewed each spot – regardless of the category – I would want to know who would earn the next spot on the list. They did an excellent job of keeping me in suspense, and the hosts were far from lame. It also wasn’t just music – no surprise there since MTV barely plays music anymore – but movies, Direc4U.com television shows, and more. It was one of the more exciting programs I had seen in a while. That being the case, I’m very much looking forward to MTV’s New Year’s Eve Top 10 of 2010. This time it’s a little different, though. Last time I was pleasantly surprised to find the show and thoroughly enjoyed it. This year, I will know what to expect which will take some of the novelty away. However, since I know the show will be on, I will have an opportunity to predict what the Top 10 movies, television shows, and songs will be. You might laugh at what Im about to tell you, but I even went so far as to write my predictions down on a peace of paper. If Im wrong, no big deal. If I win, I can pat myself on the back and tell myself I rule.

As the snowflakes gently glide to earth in a seemingly graceful dance, I feel the spirit of Christmas starting to emerge. I suddenly get the undeniable urge to dig out the Christmas decorations and start the all too familiar holiday tradition of turning our home into a Christmas wonderland.

This is the time of year I love the most, our family seems to grow closer as we share the experience of the meaning of the season. Not only is it in the festivities but the celebration of the birth of Christ that we instill in our children as they grow into adult hood.

As we share in the decorating of our home we listen soothingly to the sounds of the seasons radiating from the radio. As the decorating fills our home with joy and happiness the excitement of the season grows with the twinkling of the multi-colored lights, the whimsical scenes painted on the window accented with the snow edged window panes that gives off a nostalgic picture of Christmas past. I love the older traditional decorations that have been pasted down for generations in our family. It gives us the impression of lost loved ones returning in spirit to celebrate the season with us.

The final touches to our decorating tradition is to sit among the beautiful decorations in the family room and enjoy a big bowl of popcorn as we enjoy a holiday special on our direct tv deals. There is nothing more special that this family time shared with one another.

Written by Sherri Hicks

As far as I’m concerned, one of the best parts of the entire holiday season is the opportunity to watch the best old Christmas specials every year. The animated shows are probably my favorite overall — and though it’s hard to choose a favorite episode of all, if I had to pick my favorite, it would be Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Every year, I love to watch as Rudolph struggles with being different, faces the Abominable Snowman, and ends up finding a way to save Christmas for everyone.

This year, I watched Rudolph on Direct TV with the little girls I babysit for. The younger one had never seen Rudolph, but had heard plenty about him from her older sister. As a seasoned Rudolph fan, the older sister sat next to me and talked about her favorite characters, telling me why she loved Rudolph himself the best. When the show came on, the younger sister was simply in awe. It was amazing to me to see how engrossed in the old style animation she was, especially in comparison to the modern shows the girls usually watch.

However, I suppose that’s what makes Rudolph such a classic and is one of the reasons that it’s my favorite Christmas special. There’s something about it for everyone that transcends current trends and popularity, making it a timeless classic.
