A word from Randy

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

One thing I like is that I have family all across the United States. It seems that I am always hearing from some cousin or another from different states. I recently heard from my cousin randy who lives in Arkansas. He recently bought a house and is doing very well. He asked that I give him some advice on how to best protect his home from the many threats that are consistent with this age.

Randy has two kids and I know he wants to keep them safe. There are many threats including fires, floods, and even carbon monoxide. That’s not to mention burglars and thieves. I told randy to check out home security barling. I knew they could help him get the protection he needed. They are leaders in the field of home security.

Randy had some other questions as well. He loves to watch his football games and wanted to know what the best way to do that was. I told him to check out DirectTV as an option. They could provide him with all the programming he could want at an affordable rate. I am sure that randy and his family will do well in their new home. I wish them all the luck in the world and am glad to know I could help them stay safe and entertained.

Say yes to my favorite show!

Guest post by Gerard McDaniel

I’m totally addicted to reality television. My whole family makes fun of me because you’d never catch me watching the news or anything of substance. I think my favorite reality show (if you can call it that) is Say Yes to the Dress on TLC which I sometimes stream on the internet that I got through www.CLEAR-INTERNET.com. Its basic premise is that women go to Kleinfeld’s bridal salon in New York City and try on wedding dresses. That’s it! The women inevitably get into fights with their mothers or bridesmaids over their fashion sense and some of the ladies chose the most outrageous, terrible dresses! The consultants try so hard to make the sales, but a lot of these women are just insufferable. I can’t even fathom how much some of these people spend on their wedding dress – I’ve seen women on the show spend up to twelve thousand dollars. FOR A DRESS! Can you even imagine? The fiancés of a lot of these girls have to have patience of steel because a lot of the girls are total princesses. I don’t know if I could make it through one day working at Kleinfeld’s!

In Honor of April Fools

Friday, April 1st, 2011

There aren’t that many movies about April Fool’s day or pranks you can play. The only thing I can think of for watching tonight will be the Batman movies because of the Joker. Jack Nicholson makes a terrific Joker. So tonight it’s Batman and I hope you don’t fall victim to any practical jokes.

A Different Kind Of New Year’s Eve Predictions

Friday, January 7th, 2011

Written by Fermin Washington

Last year On New Year’s Eve, I was flipping around the channels on my satellite tv and came across MTV’s New Year’s Eve Top 9 of 2009. I didn’t expect much from a show with such a basic premise, but every time they reviewed each spot – regardless of the category – I would want to know who would earn the next spot on the list. They did an excellent job of keeping me in suspense, and the hosts were far from lame. It also wasn’t just music – no surprise there since MTV barely plays music anymore – but movies, Direc4U.com television shows, and more. It was one of the more exciting programs I had seen in a while. That being the case, I’m very much looking forward to MTV’s New Year’s Eve Top 10 of 2010. This time it’s a little different, though. Last time I was pleasantly surprised to find the show and thoroughly enjoyed it. This year, I will know what to expect which will take some of the novelty away. However, since I know the show will be on, I will have an opportunity to predict what the Top 10 movies, television shows, and songs will be. You might laugh at what Im about to tell you, but I even went so far as to write my predictions down on a peace of paper. If Im wrong, no big deal. If I win, I can pat myself on the back and tell myself I rule.

Decorating for Christmas Traditions

Saturday, January 1st, 2011

Thanks to Roman May

As the snowflakes gently glide to earth in a seemingly graceful dance, I feel the spirit of Christmas starting to emerge. I suddenly get the undeniable urge to dig out the Christmas decorations and start the all too familiar holiday tradition of turning our home into a Christmas wonderland.

This is the time of year I love the most, our family seems to grow closer as we share the experience of the meaning of the season. Not only is it in the festivities but the celebration of the birth of Christ that we instill in our children as they grow into adult hood.

As we share in the decorating of our home we listen soothingly to the sounds of the seasons radiating from the radio. As the decorating fills our home with joy and happiness the excitement of the season grows with the twinkling of the multi-colored lights, the whimsical scenes painted on the window accented with the snow edged window panes that gives off a nostalgic picture of Christmas past. I love the older traditional decorations that have been pasted down for generations in our family. It gives us the impression of lost loved ones returning in spirit to celebrate the season with us.

The final touches to our decorating tradition is to sit among the beautiful decorations in the family room and enjoy a big bowl of popcorn as we enjoy a holiday special on our direct tv deals. There is nothing more special that this family time shared with one another.
