Across the world

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

One nice thing about my family is that we are spread out all over the world. That makes it easy to gain perspectives from many different views. Just by picking up the phone, I can talk with someone who lives halfway across the world. I did this just the other day when I talked with my cousin Dave who lives in Australia. We had much to talk about and I learned a few new things.

Dave told me about his recent move to the country and some of the things that had happened to him. He described how he had found it easy to purchase the insurance he needed for him and his family. He told me about the accident cover and funeral cover he had gotten to protect his family in case something happened to him. He was satisfied that his family would be financially supported in case of an emergency.

After we had spoken for awhile, he mentioned that he was also interested in purchasing an aussie life plan. This would ensure that he could feel safe in the knowledge that those left behind him would be left in good shape. I enjoyed our conversation and feel good about the steps he has taken. I am sure that he will do very well in his new land and become the great man we all expect him to be.

Ghiradelli chocolates

Monday, June 14th, 2010

While at the neighborhood Walgreen’s, I noticed that they were featuring Ghiradelli chocolates on sale. Usually they are about $4 for a small bag. While on sale, they were 2 bags for $5. So that is not quite half price, but a very good excuse for buying two bags of my wife’s favorite chocolates! I bought one bag of dark chocolate with raspberry filling and one bag of milk chocolate with caramel filling. If she can restrain herself to just one chocolate treat each night, then we might be able to make these last about one month. That’s thirty days and nights of sweet treats.

For the Moms

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

The most important woman in my life is my mother. As long as I can remember, I’ve called her, “Mom.”

I don’t know if what I called her was ever really up to me, but “mama,” “mommy” and “mother” have never felt right.

So, in case my mom is reading my blog, I’d like to wish her a “Happy Mom’s Day”!

Shout Out to Clay

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

A buddy of mine has a blog and I just came across it today. He says he writes on his laptop when he’s got the time.

So I wanted to give a shout out to Clay. He doesn’t write all that often, but then, neither do I. So it’s all good.
